ARWIN TAN

Arwin Tan is assistant professor at the University of the Philippines, College of Music where he studied musicology and choral conducting. He is the conductor of Novo Concertante Manila, a 4-time “Ani ng Dangal” awardee from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and is currently ranked no. 3 in the top 1000 mixed choirs of the world by Interkultur, Germany.
He has adjudicated in choral competitions in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and Italy.

RODOLFO DELARMENTE

Professor Rodolfo Delarmente is a music teacher by profession. He is a composer arranger and musical director of several choral groups in Metro manila. Presently, he handles the St. Mary's Academy Vocal group of Pasay City, The RVM Sister's Chorus and the Canticle Choir-2nd Generation. He has served as consultant in different community and government choirs and has been invited as guest lecturer in different choral workshops in the Philippines and abroad. He also has been an adjudicator in different choral competitions in the country.
As musical director, he has led the St. Mary's Academy Glee Club to win the championship tittle in NAMCYA) in 1998 Youth Choir Competitions. He has also led the Pasay Kabataang Barangay Community Choir to consistently garner the Grand Prizes in the National Himig Choral Competition for three consecutive years from 1982-1984. The Canticle Choir-1st Generation was awarded Most Outstanding Cultural Group in 1984 at Malacanang Palace by the late President Ferdinand Marcos. He was awarded as the Most Outstanding Choral Conductor of the Year and same award was given to him by the Catholic Mass Media Award.
In 1999, he was invited in the World Music Symposium in Rotterdam to give lectures and background of ethnic music in the Philippines. He was invited as guest conductor in the Asian Youth Choir in Niigata Prefecture, Japan in 2002. Ma. Lourdes Hermo works as part-time volunteer in Virlanie

The Choir was invited by then Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and his wife Brigitte to sing during the opening of the Philippine exhibit at Musee du Quai Branley in Paris, France in April 2013.
The tour also included performances at the Notre Dame Cathedral, Matignon and cities in the Northern part of France.the Choir was again invited by Virlanie France in April 2015 and 2016 to visit and perform for the sponsors of the Foundation this time covering the Southern part of France, Belgium and Germany this year, the Virlanie Voices will again embark on another European Tour in April and will be representing the Philippines in the 2018 Montreux Choral Festival in Switzerland and the Nancy Choral Festival in France; they will also visit Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.

EMMANUEL DE LEON JR.

He finished his Master’s Degree in Music (MM), major in Choral Conducting, at the University of the Philippines College of Music. From the same university, he also earned his Bachelor of Music (BM) degree, and a holder of Diploma for Creative and Performing Musical Arts (DCPMA), both major in Music Education with emphasis in Voice Performances.
He was a member of the UP Concert Chorus (UPCC) from 2002-2012, and was appointed, and served as Assistant Conductor from 2007-2012. He led the UPCC in reaping numerous awards and recognitions in different international competitions in Europe during their world tour in 2012.
He is currently the Music Director of the University of the Philippines Manila Chorale (UPMC). Under his tutelage, UPMC participated in various international choral festivals and won some of the toughest competitions: - Osaka International Choral Festival in Osaka, Japan; 10th Kruizawa International Choir Festival in Karuizawa, Japan; Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition in Marktoberdorf, Gemany; Festival Internacional de Musica di Cantonigros in Cantonigros, Spain; Sing 'N Joy Manila by Interkuktur Germany held in Manila Philippimes; and Certamen Internacional de Habaneras y Polyfonia en Torrevieja España, in Torrevieja, Spain, where they won the 1st prize in the Polyphonic Category.
Currently, he is a faculty member of the Conducting and Choral Ensemble Department in the UP College of Music. He is also a faculty member of the Kodaly Society of the Philippines where he handles conducting and chorus classes for its annual summer certificate course. He sings Bass-Baritone with the internationally-acclaimed, Philippine Madrigal Singers.

JUDE B. ROLDAN

Internationally-Published composer and arranger Jude Bautista Roldan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music where he studied piano and choral conducting. Together with his wife, Maria Theresa Vizconde-Roldan, their choir became the first-ever "Children’s Choir of the World" winner at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in North Wales, United Kingdom and Choir Olympic Champions at 3rd World Choir Games in Bremen, Germany.
He gives composition, arranging and choral workshops around the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea and the United States of America. His compositions have been recorded, premiered and performed in festivals and competitions around the world and he has been invited as guest conductor and adjudicator in choral competitions and festivals here and abroad.

Lester Delgado

He studied at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, major in Choral-Conducting under Prof. Ricardo Mazo, Prof. Herminigildo Ranera, Prof. Fidel Calalang and Rev. Fr. Nilo Mangussad. He finished his Masters Degree in Choral-Conducting at the St. Paul University Manila and graduated magna cum laude under the guidance of Prof. Eudenice Palaruan.
Lester is a faculty member of Centro Escolar University Conservatory of Music teaching Advance Counterpoint, Composition, Orchestration, Music Technology, Solfeggio and Choral Arranging Classes both in the Undergraduate and Graduate School. He conducts the Centro Escolar University Singers-Makati that recently won Gold Medals at the 3rd Bali International Choral Competition in Bali Indonesia last August 2014.
He also conducts the Philippine Tourism Chorale, the official choir of the Department of Tourism, Globe Voices of Globe Company and the Vocalismo Choral Group, a professional singing group whose members are mostly graduates of UST Conservatory of Music.

Dr. ED LUMBERA MANGUIAT, honoris causa, is the founder and conductor of the University of the Philippines Singing Ambassadors (UPSA), a choral group he nurtured into a multi-award-winning choir with a distinctive quality. He has earned for the country 5 Grand Prizes, 23 First Prizes from 18 top European international competitions.
He is the first Asian conductor to win, with his choir, the Grand Prize in the Concorso Polifonio Guido d’Arezzo (Arezzo, ITALY) in 2001. His UPSA is one of only 4 Filipino choirs that have qualified in the EGP (European Grand Prix in Choral Singing).

RAMON MOLINA LIJAUCO, JR

Ramon Lijauco, Jr. graduated Master in Music, major in Choral Conducting (Summa cum laude) at St. Paul University Manila College of Music where he is now taking his Doctor of Musical Studies in choral conducting. He has been the conductor of the world renowned Philippine Meistersingers (formerly AUP Ambassadors) for 20 years. Under his leadership, the Philippine Meistersingers have received numerous international honors, namely: 2005 US Congressional Merit of Excellence in Performance, Champion at the 2006 World Choir Games, proclaimed 2011 Choir of the World at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, and receiving the coveted Luciano Pavarotti Trophy. In 2012 they received a Philippine Congressional Proclamation recognizing their contribution to Philippine music and culture. They are also one of the recipients of the 2012 Ani ng Dangal Award.
In 2010, he was one of the international speakers for the acclaimed TEDx conference. He is among the pool of adjudicators for the National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) and is a member of the PCDA. As conductor, adjudicator, and choral clinician, he has extensively traveled throughout Asia, USA, Canada, UAE, UK, and Europe.
He is based both in the Philippines and Thailand. He also directs the Suanplu Chorus of Thailand, the founder of the Thailand Society for Choral Excellence and cofounder of the Thailand Youth Choral Competition.

Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng

Dr. Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of the Philippines, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate conducting, choir, and music theory.
She is also the Music Director and Conductor of the Ateneo de Manila University College Glee Club, the UP Dawani Women’s Choir, and the New Millennium Sanctuary Choir.
Previously, she conducted the University of Michigan Residential College Singers (2011-2012) the University of Michigan Opera Chorus (2010-2011), the Yale University Church Choir (2009-2010), and the Yale Marquand Chapel Choir (2008-2009).
Her conducting and academic awards include the 2012 Levi Barbour Fellowship from the University of Michigan, the 2010 Phyllis Curtin Career Entry Award from the Yale School of Music, the 2010 Margot Fassler Award and the 2009 Hugh Giles Prize from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.
In 2009, she won First Prize at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Graduate Conducting Competition, the most prestigious national conducting competition in the United States. Most recently, she was also invited to be a conducting fellow at the Chorus America National Choral-Orchestral Master Class in New York City.
She serves on the National Board of the Philippine Choral Directors Association.
